ABOUT PAULA

Hello, I am Paula - architect and designer from Zurich, Switzerland.

Trained at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zurich, where I earned my Master’s degree in Architecture, I went on to work as an architect and interior designer in Spain and Switzerland. In 2025, I founded FRIENDS OF PAULA — a brand dedicated to creating collectible design pieces and bespoke interiors.

THE FRIENDS

FRIENDS OF PAULA is a multidisciplinary design brand with a collaborative approach to architecture and object design.

In an open-minded environment we share knowledge and skill, building a community  with artists and artisans in order to preserve traditional craftsmanship and create meaningful design.

Because good design comes from collective discourse.

PHILOSOPHY

FRIENDS OF PAULA is about taking the time to do well.

To create something of value. To produce responsibly and sustainably. All of our products are hand-made, with an appreciation of the craft involved, made by experts in their field in order to achieve the highest possible quality. Rather than mass-producing, we produce limited series or on-demand only.

NATURAL DESIGN

My strongest source of inspiration lies in nature. Its shapes, textures, colors, and the memories of the places I have experienced subtly shape my work.

Guided by this inspiration, I choose natural materials and strive to create with care, sustainability, and responsibility.

ARTIST COLLABORATIONS

Raised in a family-owned gallery for contemporary art, I cultivated a deep appreciation for conceptual thinking, craftsmanship, and the power of storytelling.

In collaboration with MAI 36 Galerie Zürich, FRIENDS OF PAULA works with renowned artists from around the world to create art editions that extend and celebrate their artistic work.

BESPOKE INTERIORS

FRIENDS OF PAULA seeks to create meaningful spaces that tell a unique story. With a deep appreciation for material and craftsmanship, each project is planned with care and special attention for detail.
